Synergy Architects are delighted to have brought the former Heathfield High School building, in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, back to life as a vibrant, modern primary school fit for the 21st century.
The project involved the conversion of a prominent Modernist 1930s building of local historic importance, to provide a two-form-entry (420-place) primary school, enabling the relocation and expansion of the neighbouring Newlands School.
The works restored the striking main building to its former pristine appearance and also included a new four-classroom extension, upgrading of fabric to meet modern thermal performance standards and demolitions of obsolete former high school accommodation.
