Private House, Warwickshire

Synergy Architects were appointed to complete the re-design of a large 3-storey period house in the Warwickshire countryside.  Interior design services were also provided.

The brief was to provide an ultra modern ‘white box’ interior within the existing historic building fabric. We were also asked to minimise the energy consumption of the building, which was achieved by super insulating the building fabric and adding solar water heating in combination with the latest high efficiency boilers. Stack effect passive ventilation was also used in conjunction with an open plan ground floor and a triple height entrance foyer. Ground source heat pumps, biomass fuels and CHP boilers were also considered in detail but ruled out due to payback periods.
