Designed to meet both the needs of the developer and the requirements of future tenants, the building is arranged to provide for long term flexibility. Overlaid onto this underlying principle, the building layout and aesthetic detailing were developed bespoke to the tenant's requirements. The current layout consists of a feature entrance lobby and display area, three laboratory spaces, conference and meeting rooms along with a workshop and ancillary spaces.
Set in a planning-sensitive rural location, the project involved the development of a sketch scheme initially conceived by others and revisiting the project briefing stages to ensure that the client’s long-term requirements were met. This was followed by detailed design and construction phases closely co-ordinated with the client and their tenants to produce high quality contemporary internal accommodation with flexibility to meet future needs.
